Your ZIP/JSON is processed in this browser, with a background worker for imports. Only normalized track records are saved in this site’s local browser database; IP addresses and unrelated export fields are not retained. Importing a new archive replaces the previous archive.
Use “Remove imported history” above to delete browser history only. Clearing this site’s browser data also removes that local copy. Cloud storage is separate and opt-in: “Save history to cloud” uploads normalized listening records to PostgreSQL, replacing your prior cloud archive after all batches complete. It does not upload your original ZIP or IP addresses. Cloud comparisons use that saved snapshot; seasonal artist cards use the history currently in your browser.
Cloud sign-in verifies your Spotify identity on the server and stores a hashed session token with your Spotify account ID and display name. A private, HttpOnly cookie keeps you signed in for up to seven days. “Delete cloud data” deletes the cloud account record, sessions, and listening history; local files, browser history, and Spotify playlists remain. Provider backups may retain deleted records according to the database provider’s retention policy. Signing out does not delete cloud history. Restoring downloads a cloud copy to this browser.
When you connect Spotify, Spotify receives authorization and playlist requests, including the selected track IDs, playlist name, and description. Access and refresh tokens, plus any pending playlist save, are kept in session storage. Disconnect clears them locally; it does not delete Spotify playlists or revoke the app’s authorization in your Spotify account.
Playlists preserve the exact recordings in your archive. Explicit-version substitution is not currently performed.
